How "Knitting" Can Help You Catch Crappie

Hi Fisherman,

You signed up for my crappie information for 60 days now. (can you believe it's been
2 months since we "met"?) Today I want to give you probably one of the most unique "crappie catching tactics" I have ever seen.

There's an old school crappie fisherman I talk to a lot - and he's one of those real private guys, doesn't even want me to tell you his name... so I won't.

But anyway, when he told me what he does to catch crappie, I just couldn't believe it... until I saw it for myself!

I know you won't believe it when I tell you... the guy uses knitting thread to catch crappie! But it's a little more than just throwing some thread on your hook and fishing... here's his whole strategy.

First what he does is he lookes for "hidden trees". He searches the shore for tree stumps, and judging by the size of the trunk he can guess how tall the tree was - and then "guestimates" where the top of that tree is underwater where it fell.

He swears if you can find a "top of the tree" underwater, there will be loads of crappie... and of course I believe him, not only because I know for a fact that there will be large zooplankton blooms in these spots, but he proved it to me with catching a ton of crappie.

Once he's identified a spot like this, he pulls out his home made "jigs". (He swears he'd go broke if he bought the expensive store bought jigs). So here's how he makes these "super jigs" that are responsible for most of his catches of crappie over his long life of fishing...

He uses a split-shot mold and pours 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 ounce split shot into it.
Then he uses wire crappie hooks and several different colors of knitting thread. He cuts the knitting thread into various lengths, and puts 3 strands of the thread and the hook in a shot lead and crimps it closed...

And that's how he makes his "knitting thread jig", and it works far better than some of the store bought jigs he's used... and if he looses it, he's lost pennies instead of quarters.

To start catching them, he just finds a "treetop" and changes the color of his thread until he finds the one that "hits" and catches him a mess of crappie.

...and as a rule of thumb, if you don't break off 50 or more of these jigs in a solid day of fishing, you aren't fishing where the crappie are. Don't be afraid to break 'em off, and it's good to keep everything you need to make more right on your boat.

Try the knitting thread crappie jigs - they work extremely well!

Now, here's another story about the Crappie Fishing Secret Weapon I got from Irv Fiala:

I dropped it in about 4 feet of water, and left it...when I came back 45 minutes later there were literally millions of minnows all around it. I couldn't believe it, and called my wife over to check it out - and she couldn't believe it either!

This thing is amazing!

It will work for you too, and you won't know how you ever fished without it once you see how many crappie you'll be catching. You get the 4 gifts too - but only for a little while longer (don't say I didn't warn you).

Next, in just 4 days I'm going to send the final day of the crappie fishing mini course where I am going to pepper you with 3 final "little known" techniques for catching crappie. (One has to do with a highly visible bait that will have you laughing when you hear what it is - but boy does it work!)

See you then.
